Samsung takes a leap into the future with the Flex four-door refrigerator featuring AI Family Hub+, set to debut at CES next year. This smart fridge goes beyond the ordinary, boasting an internal chamber with AI capabilities that can identify individual foods, offering recipe suggestions based on your current stock or dietary preferences.
Building upon a similar model introduced in 2023, Samsung has enhanced its smart fridge with new features. Users can now connect the appliance to their Samsung Health profile via Family Hub, allowing the fridge to tailor recipes to individual dietary needs. The fridge’s Vision AI, while currently identifying up to 33 foods, creates a seamless connection between smart technology and culinary creativity.
Beyond its culinary capabilities, the Family Hub’s 32-inch touchscreen display doubles as an entertainment hub, enabling users to stream content from their Galaxy smartphones, watch TikTok or YouTube videos, and seamlessly integrate technology into their kitchen experience.
While the smart fridge may not recognize every exotic ingredient, users have the flexibility to manually input expiration dates for items on the touchscreen. The fridge’s proactive notification system ensures users stay informed about their food inventory.
Samsung envisions this AI-integrated fridge as a central component in a broader ecosystem of smart kitchen appliances. With a focus on connectivity, the company plans to launch the Anyplace cooktop model next year, featuring a pull-out cooktop with a seven-inch LCD screen for viewing recipes from Samsung Food while cooking.
