Google unveiled the Pixel 7, a line of high-end smartphones with improved cameras, performance and battery life, as well as the company’s first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. The tech giant claimed that the improved performance of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro was due to Google’s second-generation Tensor G2 processor, an internal chip that uses AI to improve device functionality.
The cameras on both phones were also improved, allowing for better zooming and macro photography, as well as new and improved editing features such as Photo Unblur, which can restore clarity to fuzzy photos. Both new phones, which target market leaders such as Apple and Samsung, will be released Oct. 13.
The Pixel Watch, Google’s first premium wearable, will debut alongside the Pixels and will include health and fitness features from Fitbit, the wearable company that Google acquired in 2021.
The new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, along with the first Google Pixel Watch, were introduced with the following statement from Google, “Today we are introducing a true Pixel product portfolio.” “Each Pixel product is designed to provide a personalized level of intelligence that turns everyday tasks into truly satisfying ones.

It’s a personal, intelligent, holistic computer experience.”
Cell phone expert Ru Bhikha told Uswitch.com, “Its mobile hardware can stand head-to-head with Apple and Samsung on innovation,” as evidenced by the company’s recent announcements. When asked about Google’s new flagship range, he said: “Google gave us a brief overview of the Pixel 7 earlier this year, but today it gave us a deeper look.”
Google seems to have followed Apple’s lead in this regard, as the most significant updates to the iPhone 14 have been reserved for Pro models.
By including the Tensor G2 chip in both devices, Google was competing with Apple and Samsung in the mobile market. According to Mg. Bhikha, the new Pixel phones are a great value compared to the iPhone. The Pixel 7’s low price is still an important sales indicator. While the updates are not necessarily revolutionary, he still believes Google offers great value for money.
Every Pixel 7 model, from the base model to the high-end Pixel 7 Pro, is cheaper than the latest Apple smartphones. The affordable Pixel 6a, released earlier this year, is just one example of how Google ensures that everyone can afford a smartphone.
