Google is updating store search results with new labels highlighting coupons and promotions, as well as the ability to compare prices from multiple retailers.
According to a recent Google survey, among Americans planning to shop for the holidays, 43 percent plan to search for discounts and sales more often than last year.
Google is a central part of the shopping experience for U.S. shoppers. On average, 60% say they have used Google resources to shop in the past two days.
To help searchers find the right products at the best prices available, Google is introducing several new features.

Google introduces a promotional icon in search results for items that offer a discount using a coupon code, such as “15% off with coupon code PRICE”.
In addition, a new coupon clipping feature allows users to save promo codes when they’re ready to buy.
It’s worth noting that Bing has outperformed Google with this feature since it added coupon codes to search results back in August . However, each company’s execution of this feature is very different.

Google data shows that shoppers often jump from one site to another. In 2022, more than half of U.S. shoppers visited multiple websites before deciding what and where to buy.
A new offer comparison tool in Google’s search results makes it easier to browse offers from different retailers. For example, if you search for “women’s down coat,” Google will display a side-by-side comparison of available offers in the search results.
