5G at Supersonic Speeds: Qualcomm Achieves Jaw-Dropping 7.5 Gbps

Qualcomm has shattered records, achieving a groundbreaking 7.5 Gbps data download speed on a 5G network spanning up to 6 GHz. This monumental feat leaves traditional mid-band 5G networks, offering 350-450 Mbps, in the dust. Fueling this triumph is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF system, slated to debut in smartphones by year-end.

The company harnessed the 300 MHz band of 5G standalone network (SA) spectrum, marking a significant stride as SA networks unlock the full potential of 5G features and bandwidth. The key to this triumph lies in four-carrier aggregation, melding separate 5G channels for amplified capacity and bandwidth, ultimately elevating the downlink data rate.

But the technical brilliance doesn’t stop there. Qualcomm’s arsenal includes the innovative 1024 QAM modulation, dwarfing the typical 256 QAM, allowing a richer data payload per packet. Adding to the toolbox is Time Division Duplex (TDD), synchronizing uplink and downlink frequencies for more efficient data flow.

This achievement is a testament to Qualcomm’s relentless pursuit of 5G excellence, pushing boundaries and delivering speeds that defy imagination. As technology propels forward, Qualcomm’s record-breaking feat redefines our expectations of what 5G can achieve.
